Restylane

Juvederm™

Juvederm™ is a ‘next-generation’ dermal filler designed to fill in lines and wrinkles on the skin around the lips, and in the nasolabial folds. Similar to Restylane, Juvederm™ is a newer FDA-approved hyaluronic acid liquid that can correct wrinkles and facial folds for up to one year. BOTOX® Cosmetic

Botox Cosmetic works by temporarily relaxing the tiny facial muscles in a precise area, causing the treated site to become smooth and wrinkle free. The surrounding facial muscles are not affected, which allows for normal facial expression.

During your treatment, Dr. Segal will first carefully determine exactly where to place the Botox. A tiny amount of solution is then injected into the facial muscles using a very small needle. No sedation or local anesthesia is needed.

In about three days, you will start to notice the lines smoothing in the treated areas, leading to a more relaxed and youthful appearance. For your first treatment, the effects usually last 3 to 4 months. But studies have shown that the results will often last longer, up to 4 to 8 months, after several treatments with Botox. Restylane

Restylane is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

Dermatologists and plastic surgeons have used Restylane safely worldwide since 1996 in more than 3 million treatments. Because Restylane is non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within several days.

The benefits of Restylane generally last for about six months.
